A Moment to Cherish, An Opportunity to Flourish
Editor: EthineSamba
A great weekend in Berlin spent at the African Food Festival. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed—a chance to reconnect, breathe in the rich flavors and vibrant colors of our culture, and simply be present in the moment.
What struck me most wasn’t just the delicious food or the beautiful designs—though those were definite highlights—but the genuine connections I made. Meeting fellow Southern Africans and speaking Setswana felt like a comforting embrace. It reminded me why I started my brand and blogging journey in the first place: to share our stories, our inspirations, and the beauty of our culture with others.
While I was behind the camera capturing the vibrant sights, I found that the real magic happened in the conversations—the smiles, the laughs, the shared stories. It’s those authentic moments that fuel me and remind me of the importance of community. Sometimes, we just need to be around people who understand us, who lift us up, and who inspire us to keep going.
I was blown away by the creativity on display—from stunning clothing and accessories to skincare products that celebrate our natural beauty. And then there was the food. Oh, the food! The options were incredible.
This weekend left me feeling not just full—though my stomach certainly was!—but also inspired and grateful. It’s been a few months since the concert in Łódź, yet the excitement of possibly organizing another event remains abundant. Something to keep an eye on; but for now, I’d just like to share some of the wonderful people and businesses I met at the festival. We believe in lifting each other up, in collaboration, and in the power of community. Please take a moment to explore and support what these talented creators are doing.

Thanks for being part of my journey. Let’s keep celebrating our roots, building connections, and sharing our culture—wherever we are in the world.
Until next time, stay curious and keep exploring. Wishing you all the best!
